ICSB Council Met Hon'ble Chairman of NBR on November 20, 2022
The newly elected Council Members of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) led by its President, Mr. Mohammad Asad Ullah FCS called on Mr. Abu Hena Md. Rahmatul Muneem, Senior Secretary, Internal Resources Division (IRD) and Chairman, National Board of Revenue (NBR), Ministry of Finance, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh at his office on Sunday, 20 November 2022 at 09.30 AM. On behalf of the Council, the President introduced the newly elected Council Members to the Chairman and apprised him of various activities that ICSB undertook for professional development as well as its future plans.
The ICSB delegates requested the Chairman of NBR to allow Chartered Secretary professionals to become Authorized Representatives like Chartered Accountants and Cost & Management Accountants under the Income Tax Ordinance 1984. The Chairman of NBR took this request very positively and assured his cooperation for the development of the Profession of Chartered Secretary.
On behalf of the Council, the President specially briefed him about the forthcoming 9th ICSB National Award for Corporate Governance Excellence, 2021 with humble invitation for kind consent to grace the programme as the “Special Guest”. Mr. Muneem thanked him and gave consent to be the “Special Guest”.
The Council Members thanked the NBR Chairman for giving his valuable time and hoped that his continued support and guidance will help the Institute to move forward to achieve its objectives.

Shamibur Rahman FCS, Executive Director (F&A) of the Institute were present during the meeting.
